Looking back to when I first wrote about TA ideas, I find that I seem to have coined the term ‘working styles’ as the positive version of drivers (Kahler, 1975) as far back as 1989. I had two articles published then, written with colleague Nick Williams who was a former IT salesman. We wrote for a target audience of salespersons (and I am relieved to see that even then we used non-gender specific language). The first article introduced the five styles and appears below. The second related the styles to time management, and will be in my next ideas blog.
